Trees that are prone to overgrowth require more pruning to maintain their foliage. But the cost of yearly pruning adds up fast. In cases like these, we recommend application of a growth regulator, which is a safer and more-cost effective solution to rapidly growing trees.

With our growth regulator application, your tree’s above-ground vegetative growth will slow so that pruning is required only every 3 to 5 years. It will also redistribute the tree’s energy to promote root formation, which is beneficial for your tree’s longevity.

Jackson Tree Service provides two types of growth regulator application:

• Basic Growth Regulator: limits tree overgrowth and promotes root formation.
• Growth Regulator Plus: limits tree overgrowth, promotes root formation, and increases chlorophyll production, making leaves greener and more aesthetically pleasing.

Both regulators are applied via soil drench, in which diluted chemicals are added directly to the base of the tree. Applying the solution in this way provides deep, targeted penetration for maximum uptake by the tree.

During your growth regulator appointment, one licensed applicator will perform the soil drench. Growth regulator appointments last approximately an hour, though this may change depending on the size of the tree.
