St. Louis Oak Gall Treatment
Oak galls are one of the most unsightly ailments a tree can have. Unfortunately, they can also be deadly for your tree. That’s why our certified arborists at Jackson Tree Service offer preventative treatment against oak galls.
Our injection treatment is proven to be very effective against the formation of new oak galls. However, it will not impact existing galls. For trees with existing infestations, we typically recommend deadwooding the limbs that carry galls, and then treating it with our trunk injection to protect it from future gall formation.
Oak gall injections are maximally effective if applied between March and November. During the appointment, one of our licensed applicators will inject the treatment solution into the trunk of the tree, allowing for direct solution uptake through the xylem. The length of the appointment may vary depending on the size and number of trees requiring treatment. For best results, we recommend repeating the treatment every two years.
Shown below is a tree that was treated with our oak gall injection for two years. While existing galls were not eliminated, healthy branches remained gall-free.
